Morrie and wife Annie live in Hawthorne, Brisbane. They have a daughter (Kate)and son (Xander) pursuing passions in fashion design and real estate respectively. Morrie also has another daughter (Sam), son-in-law and two teenage grandsons.

Morrie graduated from the Officer Cadet School Portsea into the Royal Australian Artillery in December 1968 and left the Army in late 1987. He graduated from the Command and Staff College in 1982. His service included regimental postings in Australia, South Vietnam and Singapore, training postings in Australia, UK and Germany, and staff postings in fields of operations, personnel and disaster management.

Post Army service, Morrie worked as a senior manager in the Defence Housing Authority from 1988 to 1995, and as Project Manager and General Manager Operations establishing the Canadian Forces Housing Agency 1995 to 1998.

Annie and Morrie operated a small business support centre in Noosa from 1999 to 2005 before taking Kate and Xander on Australian travel adventures in 2006 and 2007. From 2008 to 2016, Morrie was CEO of Coast2Bay Housing Group, a social and affordable housing charity in the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay regions. He oversaw its growth from an incorporated association with 211 properties to a company managing 1044 properties utilizing a mix of government and private sector investments.

Annie and Morrie retired in 2016 to Brisbane to spend time with family and pursue travelling without the limitation of looking after a home with a couple of acres at Tinbeerwah near Noosa.
Morrie has accrued a wide range of financial and business skills in diverse fields and is keen to contribute to MiVAC’s goals with spare time on hand.
